Almost up to date at last! Pie 9 was made tonight – it was supossed to be goat’s cheese & mushroom polenta pie, but it turned out to be more like mushroom and artichoke pie with a feta and polenta crust. The filling was pretty good, but I don’t think I will bother with a […]
The one with pie 8
It’s from the HBPP – vegetable samosas. Overall assessment – tasty, and the recipe was easy, but far too fiddly to assemble! Tasted good though!
The one about 7th pie heaven
This week, I decided to tackle my first sweet pie – a traditional Bakewell tart! The puff pastry was shop bought, on the advice of Si & Dave, but everything else was homemade. It was a delicious pudding after a roast dinner at the weekend. Perfect with vanilla ice cream.
The one with pie 6
Rattling through the pie updates now! Pie 6 – the HBPP Salmon gratin. An expensive one, as it used a half salmon, but very tasty and it did yield quite a few portions.
The one with Pie 5
Another week, another pie. 28th January was another HBPP (Hairy Bikers perfect Pie) – tuna mayonnaise plate pie. A lazy recipe this week – store cupboard ingredients but I did make my own shortcrust pastry. This would make a great picnic food or a summer supper. It was really simple to make, and lovely cold […]
The one with the fourth pie
Let me introduce you to the main source of the pie recipes, Si & Dave! I will try to add the filling recipe to this post later on….
The one with the third pie
OK, so I am a bit late posting these pies…. Pie 3 was made on 19th January and was a celeraic & potato topped cottage pie. No recipe in this post, it was just thrown together really! If I get the chance, I will re-visit this post and add a vague recipe later…

The one about the first pie
OK, so I need to do a pie update. The first pie night took place in the first week of January and was. therefore, Christmas leftovers pie! The filling ingredients were, well, what was left over (turkey & ham) in a white sauce: For the filling: 75g butter 1 onion, chopped 2 garlic cloves. crushed […]
The one with all the courgettes
OK, so my title lies a little. They’re more marrows than courgettes! Either way, there’s a lot of them. So, this morning has been spent searching for recipes to use them in, and acquainting myself with the finer points of OneNote (more on that in a later post I think) The first culinary delight to […]
